A few times I get asked this when I spam advertisements for our guild Prestige on the pve server silkweb. My answer to them is this. I want to run warfronts, I am not interested in world pvp. I do agree world pvp is fun and I have done it a few times in World of Warcraft when raiding the capitals of the various Horde citys to get the special mount that comes with the achievement of killing all of the opposing faction leaders. Sometimes there are fun world events that have some pvp action but beyond that not so much. I have always rolled on a pve server and a few times coming out of a battleground I will be flagged pvp whenever I return to the world map and some idiot 20 levels above will decide to gank me. I cannot imagine the amount of grief one would get being on a pvp server and trying to get daily tasks completed. Anyway bottom line is pve servers are much more convenient to level up with, so if I want to roll an alt I know I can level fast. They do not have these scarce material economies that pvp servers have, so if there is a BIS piece of gear one can craft it will not cost a fortune to get the mats. Also the option of joining a pug raid and experiencing the pve side of the game is much more convenient. It might be that a BIS piece for a team member can only be acquired from a raid boss, well then our guild has the option to try to get together one night and try to down that boss.
